Many of us are aware that there are people in our communities living in poverty and subsisting day-to-day, are homeless, or in worse conditions. Unfortunately, we get caught up in our daily routines and do not manage to find time to do much about it.
CSR programs running through most organizations give us the little push needed to help. The iPlace WeMakeaDifference programs are focused to help the elderly, differently abled, and underprivileged women and children.
A Glimpse of Our Commitment towards Community Welfare
iPlace works with NGOs in Pune and a few at the national level:
We sponsored the annual expenses of four children from SWPH & RC - The Society for The Welfare of The Differently Abled Persons (Physically Handicapped) Education and Research Centre. iPlace also donated ceiling fans to the school to help make the approaching summer bearable.
iPlacers raised funds to sponsor the annual school fees of 10 children at Sparsh – A shelter and rehabilitation center that works for underprivileged kids and the children of sex workers - and the company has pledged to continue to pay their fees through their graduation from high school. We invited all the kids to enjoy Diwali and Christmas at the iPlace office.
iPlace celebrated ‘Raksha Bandhan’ at a residential school for mute children. Although emotional, it was heart-warming to see the happy faces of the children who put on skits and dance performances for the iPlace team.
iPlacers have also spent their weekends at old age homes – entertaining the elderly inhabitants at these institutions and being patient listeners to touching narratives of their past lives.
